CUCUR (TUMPI')

Have you ever ate a round sweet cake almost like dorayaki in Doraeamon Anime? But it is a little chewy and oily, yeah, it is a cucur. Cucur is the traditional cake in West Borneo, especially in Dayaknese, they will serve cucur in every special moments or their great days. Cucur’s taste is very humble, only sweet and oily, but cucur still popular to eat, the fibers that formed at the edges of cake are crispy , and the brown sugar flavor in cucur is very yummy.

Cucur made from a very simple recipe, it has a few ingredients, such as; 300 grams of rice flour, 100 grams of wheat flour, 175 grams brown sugar, 500 ml of water, and enough palm oil to fry it.
Firstly,  boil the brown sugar in a hot water until it melt, and filter it to waste the dregs that usually contained in brown sugar. After that, mix the wheat flour and the rice flour, pour the sugar  on it, then stir them together until smooth. Let the batter about an hour, and the last fry the batter in a medium heat by using a medium size spoon to pour it.
                Cucur is a traditional food in West Borneo, eventhough the way to make cucur is very simple, many of people can not make a delicious cucur, because to make a delicious cucur is not only depend on the ingredients, but also a special skill in the frying process.
